Recently, “Chongqing Jiangxiaobai Liquor Co., Ltd.”, sorghum liquor enterprise and poster child of Chongqing, as well as award-winner at two international spirit competitions, was nominated “National Model Enterprise for Quality and Credit” by the China Association for Quality Inspection (hereinafter referred to as CAQI) in the “China Quality Month”. Lately, it also won the honor of “National Advanced Enterprise for Quality and Credit” from CAQI. Gaining recognition among both industry members and consumers by adhering to guidelines like the “Product Regulation of SLP (Smooth, Light and Pure)” and focusing on contemporary consumers’ tastes and product quality, Jiangxiaobai finally got rewarded by sticking to its concept of “Quality is the foundation of our business”.

To facilitate the development of becoming a superpower in production of quality products and the coming of a new era , China has launched the “Quality Month” event themed on “Vigorous promotion of quality to build a country with strength in quality” and selected a number of representative model enterprises for quality and credit to actively encourage enterprises to promote quality and create brands by applying new technology and new materials since 1978.
Jiangji Distillery, Jiangxiaobai’s production base, has found a “Pure Liquor Brewing” method which is using red sorghum as the single raw material. There are strict requirements for both material and procedure. Just take the control over the temperature as an example: to ensure the brewing temperature, workers start their shift at 3 am in summer; in the brewing process, the sorghum must be soaked in water with a temperature of about 90℃ to remove miscellaneous aromas; in the process of low-temperature bacterium cultivation, a temperature of 32℃-35℃ is required to speed up the growth of saccharomycetes, boost the development of numerous small molecular nutrients and improve the smoothness of taste; the quartzite pits lower the temperature of the fermentation process for they can isolate foreign bacteria effectively and control the growth temperature of microorganisms, thus strengthen the flavor of the spirits.
Jiangji Distillery has applied the technology of “One code, one product”. Namely, the QR code on each bottle cap is a unique ID for each product which can be checked and verified by the consumers. The complex tracing system in place therefore can guarantee the products’ quality.
Led by three state-level spirit judges, a state-level fruit wine judge and eight provincial-level spirit judges, Jiangxiaobai acts as pioneer in positioning and making of the newly-born light sorghum liquor. Using a series of innovations to ensure quality, it also caters to international palates, giving spirits–traditional taste & new flavor–a rebirth or “Renaissance of the Old Flavor”.
This marks the third time that Jiangji Distillery’s gaoliang (sorghum) spirits have won reputed awards this year. Before that, “Gold Label”, “JOYOUTH” and other products were awarded gold medals, silver awards of excellence, etc. in their respective categories at IWSC (International Wine & Spirits Competition) and Spirit Selection 2017 by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. Besides demonstrating the excellent quality of its products, Jiangxiaobai also won the honor of representing Chongqing sorghum liquor and spread the taste of Chongqing to the world.
