70 Year-old Bus-based Pub Opened Just for One Day

“Man with engineering degree resigned from steady job at state-owned enterprise for taking photos of starry sky”, “A couple born in the 1980s sold house on Second Ring Road of Beijing to run home stay facility in Dali”, “CEO vacating office desk to go on lone search for jungle crocodile”… Such titles would emerge on the internet every once in a while. In the era of “urban anxiety disorder” which is an increasingly hot topic, these stories about getting rid of a traditional life to pursue their dreams become increasingly a yearningfor the young.

As sorghum liquor brand with mild aroma, and the aspiration to reach and inspire the youth, how could Jiangxiaobai be blind to such headlines? On June 17, 2017, Jiangxiaobai pub,a mobile one-day solution, opened for business at Yinbin Plaza, Shin Kong Place, Suzhou. Nearly 1,000 young people visited the pub to experience their desired life during the 7-hour business time.

                       

 

A rare vintage car from the 40s was finally found after a one-month search.

Like many difficult projects, it is hard to initiate the activity which could flop anytime although everything is prepared well. However, “Jiangxiaobai Pub” met a huge hurdle at the beginning—— the vehicle was not available.

As planned originally, it should be a Volkswagen T1, a model popular throughout Europe and America in the 1940s and used to be the spiritual symbol of Woodstock Music Festival and Route 66. With “Hippies” and “Literature and art retro” sweeping through the world, it came back to the attention of the public again.

The owner of the car helped to acquire the related information. Eventually, a T1 which can be remoulded was found from a collector in Shanghai. Afterwards, it took almost one month for the staff of Jiangxiaobai to convert the TI into a pub.

 

With the three themes, it can mix a drink to cater to your emotion.

It took “Jiangxiaobai pub” team two months to go from the birth of an idea to the realization of it. Since June, the pub started its dream of “Tour of China”in the first destination ——Suzhou.

“Jiangxiaobai pub” offered three themes during the activity on June 17th, namely “Stress Relief Pub”, “Music Pub” as well as “Father and Son Pub”. Relieving anxiety pub offered “mixing drink according to your emotion”. The participants could draw lots upon their needs to and obtain a customized “relieving anxiety spirits”.  Kevin, the bartender at the mobile pub, provided the recipe of the“Stress Relief Spirits”. He designed five kinds of spirits to help the young relieve from pressure, which are “Relieving spirits”, “It Ain’t You Spirits”, “Not so bad spirits”, “A-little-hope spirits”, “Let’s get high! spirits”.

In addition, the participants could acquire the mixed drink appropriate for their desired lyrics in here. Xiaoxin, a local original musician, was invited to perform at the music pub, which attracted the audience joining for a chorus. A bustling picture appeared.

“Father and Son Pub” is originally designed to encourage the adult son and father to be connected emotionally and to express their affection. “Since it is Father’s Day tomorrow, we would often drink spirits with our friends, brothers and coworkers, however, we would often forget about the one at home who has been waiting for you to drink spirits. Therefore, we expect to set up a communication platform for the fathers and their children”, said the boss of the pub. The pub invited all the fathers and their children of Suzhou to drink and have a heart-to-heart talk in here.

In addition, a handful of spirits were created specifically for them, including “Father-and-Son Ice”, “Father’s Memoirs”, “Father-and-Son, One Mind”, “Like a Real Father”, “The Best Dream Guy”,with an aim to advocate more communication between the young and their fathers.

 

Where is the next stop? “Mainly depends on the mood”, said the boss.

As a favorite brand of young people , Jiangxiaobai has been trying to communicate with the young by using the carrier“Spirits”. “Jiangxiaobai Pub” marks another exploration into the youth culture after“All things grow” Art Exhibition and Taklimakan Rally.

                       

 

Using the spirits, “Jiangxiaobai pub” is designed originally to make friends with the ones who understand spirits and love to venture and to encourage the young to meet new friends and discover their own soul over the trip. They will initiate the tour of China next and stay in the desired cities, to share stories by means of spirits. With regard to the selection of destinations, “Jiangxiaobai pub” does not propose any special requirement: if it is a trip to Xinjiang, a desert pub will come into being; if it is a trip to Inner Mongolia, the spirits will be mixed with a bunch of grass from the grassland; if it is a trip to Heilongjiang, the pub will be anchored at Mohe county in the northern end of China, with people cheering up with the nature blessed by polar lights; if it is a trip to the sea, a campfire music party will appear on the beach —— their mind is quite simple: “Fun and interesting”
